Treeport Zundert U.A., Coöperatieve Vereniging
Coöperatieve Vereniging Treeport Zundert U.A. (hierna Treeport) ontplooit initiatieven, voert projecten uit en organiseert activiteiten die bijdragen aan een gezonde en gebalanceerde boomkwekerijsector in de regio West- en Midden-Brabant, en ook Noorderkempen (BE).
De leden van Treeport dragen de boomteeltsector in West Brabant en de Noordelijke Kempen (B) een warm hart toe.
Op dit moment zijn zo’n 190 boomkwekerijen, toeleveranciers, adviseurs en andere aan de boomteeltsector verbonden bedrijven lid van de organisatie. Dankzij hun samenwerking maken ze de regio - met Zundert als bloeiend centrum - tot het meest aantrekkelijke boomteeltgebied van Europa. Treeport is zowel nationaal als internationaal actief, op multidisciplinair niveau. De synergie tussen de verschillende partijen leidt tot de beste kwaliteit in producten en diensten.
The Coöperatieve Vereniging Treeport Zundert U.A. (hereafter: Treeport) works on initiatives, executes projects, and organises activities that contribute to a healthy and balanced tree nursery industry in the West--Middle-Brabant region, and also in North Kempen (Belgium).
The Treeport members carry a torch for the tree nursery industry in the West of Brabant and the Northern Kempen (B).
At the moment, approximately 190 tree nurseries, suppliers, advisers, and other companies related to the tree nursery industry are a member or friend of the organisation. Thanks to their cooperation, they make the region - with Zundert as its flourishing centre - the most attractive tree nursery area of Europe. Treeport is nationally and internationally active, on a multidisciplinary level. The synergy between all parties results in the best products and services.

Treeport heeft zich aangesloten bij GGP.news. Daarmee krijgt de coöperatieve vereniging een extra podium om projecten, kennis en ontwikkelingen uit de boomkwekerijsector onder de aandacht te brengen van een bredere groep professionals. Volgens manager David Bömer past de samenwerking bij de positie die Treeport in de sector inneemt. “Wij hebben zelf een sterk netwerk, maar je wilt je boodschap ook buiten je eigen kring laten horen.”

Treeport has joined GGP.news. This gives the cooperative association an additional platform to bring projects, knowledge and developments from the tree nursery industry to the attention of a broader group of professionals. According to manager David Bömer, the collaboration fits well with Treeport’s position within the industry. “We have a strong network of our own, but we would like to reach people beyond that network.”
Schapenwol in plaats van plastic antiworteldoek; een interessant experiment
Onkruid wil je niet hebben op de kwekerij, dus wordt er antiworteldoek toegepast. Dat is echter veelal van plastic. De werkgroep Agrobiodiversiteit van Treeport experimenteert met een alternatief. GGP.News sprak hierover met Joyce Oomen, lid van de werkgroep. Oomen benadrukt dat echt nog om een experiment gaat; kan schapenwol een goede vervanger zijn voor het plastic anti-worteldoek?

Weeds are something growers want to avoid at the nursery, which is why anti-root fabric is used. However, this is generally made of plastic. Treeport’s Agrobiodiversity working group is experimenting with an alternative. GGP.News spoke with working group member Joyce Oomen about the project.
