From 30 September to 2 October 2026, the 36th edition of GrootGroenPlus will take place at the BCT site near the Hazeldonk border crossing in the municipality of Zundert. This year, the international trade fair for the tree nursery industry is entirely dedicated to the theme Growing Together. With this theme, the trade fair emphasises the importance of collaboration, innovation and a sustainable future for the tree nursery industry and the wider green industry.

More than 285 participants from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Poland and Turkey will present their assortments at the trade fair. Visitors will find a complete range of products, from propagation material and young plants to mature trees, as well as machinery, technology and innovative cultivation solutions. This makes GrootGroenPlus an important meeting place for tree growers, landscape contractors, landscaping companies, garden centres, landscape architects and government organisations. Previous evaluations show that visitors rate the trade fair particularly highly because of the quality of the participants and the practical applicability of the information provided.

Interesting programme
There will be something special to experience on all three days. The Green Grand Prix will also return, putting promising novelties as well as proven top products in the spotlight. The Koninklijke Vereniging voor Boskoopse Culturen (KVBC) will assess new introductions from the Netherlands and abroad, giving innovations within the tree nursery sector additional attention. The assessments and award ceremony will take place on the opening day, 30 September.

In addition to the assessment of the submitted plants, the green stands will be judged for the Jac Lodders Prize and the stands of suppliers for the Jan van Dongen Prize. The stand that best represents Zundert’s image as a tree nursery region will receive the Zunderts Groen Imago Prijs (ZGIP).

On 1 October, there will be a round-table discussion entitled ‘From nursery to climate solution: about the changing role of the grower’ The international trade press, together with a large group of important buyers, will then go on a tour to several companies and a garden centre. On the morning of 2 October, Royal Anthos and LTO Bomen, Vaste planten en Zomerbloemen will present their future vision, ‘Groen is Leven’ (green is life), while Treeport’s young professionals will present their ‘Vision 2045’.

International
The international character of GrootGroenPlus continues to grow every year. During the 2025 edition, 37 percent of visitors came from abroad, representing no fewer than 35 countries. The number of visitors from Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Italy, Germany and France in particular increased significantly.

This year, the trade fair will gain an additional international dimension as a visit to GrootGroenPlus forms part of the annual conference of the International Plant Producers Society (IPPS). Dozens of IPPS members from across Europe will visit the trade fair to exchange knowledge and discover new developments. As part of a special programme, the trade fair will also be visited by a large group of international buyers from several countries, including interesting markets such as the Baltic States, Greece and even the Gulf States.

On the trade fair floor, participants will once again be divided across three clearly marked routes: grey, red and blue. This layout makes it easier for visitors to ensure they do not miss a single stand. One of the highlights is the Plein van Morgen, where participants will present sustainable and future-proof products. The concept is inspired by the sales floor of garden centres and offers plenty of inspiration for both retailers and producers.
