Rick Zagers has been an alderman in Zundert since May 2026. He is an alderman on behalf of the Zundert VVD. In addition to traffic, sports, education and facilities, his portfolio also includes economic affairs. This means that he will also have a great deal to do with the tree nursery sector in our municipality.

The 36th edition of GrootGroenPlus will start in Rijsbergen on Wednesday 30 September. The trade fair will run until Friday 2 October 2026. During the event, alderman Rick Zagers will present the Zunderts Groen Imago Prijs.

Rick Zagers has experience in politics and innovation
He is not new to politics. He previously gained experience as a municipal councillor in Breda. Before becoming an alderman, he worked as an innovation manager at the Ministry of Defence. He enjoys working in a practical way and likes to see results.

The tree nursery industry is a good fit for him
The municipality is known for its tree nurseries. This sector is part of the identity of our municipality. Rick Zagers is keen to contribute to discussions on issues such as accessibility, space for entrepreneurs and innovation.

The Zunderts Groen Imago Prijs reflects our core values
The prize is awarded to a company that is a frontrunner in sustainability. The company promotes the green image of the municipality of Zundert and inspires other businesses.
In 2025, ROOTZ won the award. ROOTZ is a knowledge and innovation centre for the tree nursery industry.
