Climbing rose Rosa Hybrid Plant’n’Relax from Roses Forever became the winner of the Show Your Colors Award at IPM 2024. Second place was awarded to the cherry tomato Pick-&-Joy from Vreugdenhil Young Plants in the Netherlands. The 3rd place went to Baily Nurseries International for the Hydrangea macrophylla ’Bailmacseven’.

Show Your Colours 2024 is about the added value of the plant expressed through the story behind the plant, i.e. storytelling. Both plants and plant concepts can be submitted. Often it is not enough to simply put a plant on the shelf to encourage the consumer to buy it. A garden plant alone may look beautiful, but that is not always the case. With added value in the form of a label, a beautiful pot, a clever concept or simply by giving information about the plant, it can attract more attention. Nowadays, companies are well prepared for this and give their plants that little bit extra. To encourage trade fair participants* to put their products in the right light with that certain something extra, the Show Your Colours Award IPM was created.

Rosa Hybrid Plant’n’Relax

The climbing rose Rosa Hybrid Plant’n’Relax is sold with informative labels and a climbing aid. This makes it easier to sell because it makes it clear to the customer at first glance that it is a climbing rose. It also comes in a slightly smaller size, which should make it easier to handle at the POS. www.roses-forever.com

Pick-&-Joy

The Cherry tomato Pick-&-Joy is supplied with four to five tomato panicles. The customer can therefore start harvesting immediately after purchase. The plant produces fruit for four to six weeks. www.vreugdenhilyoungplants.com

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Bailmacseven'

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Bailmacseven' stands out with its dark flowers and leaves, which are very different from other hydrangeas. The trade is supplied with numerous marketing materials for the plant.  www.baileynurseries.com
