In December 2023, the European Plant Support Foundation (EPS) called for the submission of innovative plans to advance the tree nursery industry. In response, trade fair GrootGroenPlus decided to submit the plan for the ‘Promising Green’ project (Kansrijk Groen). This application has been approved, allowing the project to commence.

International visitors
One of GrootGroenPlus's goals is to expand the number of international participants and visitors. Alongside the long-standing practice of inviting and guiding international journalists, another strategy is to invite foreign buyers, garden centres, and interest organisations.

This project aims to stimulate international visits to GGP with a specific focus on potential exhibitors and promoting the trade of nursery products, particularly those in the visually appealing segment and related technologies.

Carefully selected guests
In order to achieve this, GrootGroenPlus will collaborate with journalists and establish local contacts with Dutch embassies and growers' associations in target countries to compile a group of carefully selected guests. Primarily, the plan is to invite guests from Eastern Europe for an all-expenses-paid trip.

These guests will be invited for 2 to 3 days, including a day at the 34th edition of the GrootGroenPlus trade fair, held from October 2-4, 2024, in Zundert. They will also participate in an external excursion visiting four local participants and explore various segments of the green industry.

Financial support from EPS
GrootGroenPlus has requested financial support from EPS for the mission in 2024, and possibly for repeated missions in the coming years. The contribution from EPS will help arrange a well-organised program for the guests.

EPS intends to issue another call in the second half of this year, announcing a second round of submissions.
