Local celebration of Boomfeestdag returns this year

On Wednesday 19 March 2025, another tree planting event will take place in the municipality of Zundert, building on the local initiative that originated from the Nationale Boomfeestdag. First collectively launched last year, the event promises to be another inspiring day dedicated to raising awareness about greenery, sustainability, and biodiversity. With 150 children, engaging activities, and the planting of new trees at the Business Centre Treeport (BCT), it is set to make a lasting impact.

Marking the end of the planting season with a green touch

As was the case last year, this celebration is linked to the traditional conclusion of the planting season as observed by the Stichting Nationale Boomfeestdag. This time, the event will mark the beginning of a new lane of honorary trees near the wadi at BCT. While not all the trees will be planted on the same day, the ceremonial start will be a significant moment. Children from local primary schools will have the opportunity to plant trees themselves and learn about the importance of trees and nature in their surroundings. Classroom lessons and activities with a competitive element, successfully implemented over several years, will once again be organised to inspire and educate the younger generation. The event will accommodate approximately 150 children, who will be safely transported to and from the location.

Partners and collaboration

The local celebration is organised by Trade Fair GrootGroenPlus, Stichting European Plant Support, Coöperatieve Vereniging Treeport Zundert, and Treeport BCT Partners BV, with the support of partners such as Rabobank De Zuidelijke Baronie, Waterschap Brabantse Delta, the municipality of Zundert, and the Stichting Nationale Boomfeestdag. This collaborative effort, combined with the involvement of local schools, ensures that not only are trees planted but also that awareness around sustainability is significantly enhanced.

Inspiration and education

Just like last year, children will have the opportunity to learn about growth, biodiversity, and the importance of healthy soil management. A competitive element will once again feature a classroom activity, inviting schools to contribute through creative projects or lessons.

Contribute to this special day

The celebration is open to collaboration. Companies, organisations, and schools that wish to contribute to the organisation or activities are invited to get in touch via info@grootgroenplus.nl. New initiatives or ideas are warmly welcomed to enrich this event further. Together, we can create a meaningful occasion that inspires, connects, and engages younger generations in building a sustainable.
