In the Spotlight: Boomkwekerij Martijn van de Wouw at GrootGroenPlus 2025

Boomkwekerij Martijn van de Wouw, based in Oirschot, specializes in young avenue trees and an extensive range of fruit trees. At GrootGroenPlus 2025, this relatively young nursery will exhibit for the third time. With a focus on quality, affordability, and accessibility, the company serves professional tree growers, landscapers, and private clients alike.
Ambitious grower with a practical mindset
Martijn van de Wouw founded his nursery in 2019. He now manages 10 hectares of land, of which 7 hectares are in active production. About 60% of his output consists of avenue tree whips; the other 40% includes fruit trees in various shapes and sizes. "We offer fruit trees at a fair price, accessible to all budgets," says Van de Wouw. Nevertheless, avenue trees remain the company’s core business.
Exhibiting with a clear focus
At the fair, Boomkwekerij Martijn van de Wouw will highlight its whips for avenue trees. "I want to meet my existing clients," Van de Wouw explains, "but since we’ve grown, I also see this as an opportunity to connect with international growers." The company sets itself apart with espalier-shaped fruit trees and a wide range that meets the needs of a diverse customer base.
Technology and long-term outlook
Recent investments include GPS-guided planting machines to improve planting flexibility and efficiency. In addition, the company is working to stabilize its workforce — a common challenge in the sector. Van de Wouw envisions a future where avenue and fruit tree production continue side by side, with more emphasis on container cultivation. "I really enjoy attending trade fairs — it’s outside my comfort zone and a great way to meet lots of people," says Martijn van de Wouw, owner of the nursery.
