NL Plants joins GGP.news as a partner: specialist in forest and hedge plants with deep roots in the sector

GGP.news proudly welcomes NL Plants from Wernhout as a new partner. Specialised in the cultivation and supply of forest and hedge plants, the company operates on more than 120 hectares and employs around 35 people. It supplies both bare-root and container-grown plants across Europe, with a strong focus on sustainable and future-oriented cultivation methods.
The history of NL Plants goes back to 1971, when it was founded under the name J.C.M. Lodders Boomkwekerijen. In 2021, the name NL Plants was introduced following a strategic split between growing and trading activities. The Lodders family has been active in the tree nursery industry for generations and played an important role in shaping the sector. The father of the current owner, Jac Lodders, was co-founder of the GrootGroenPlus trade fair, laying the foundation for what has become an international platform. Each year, the Jac Lodders Award – named after Marc’s father and co-founder of the fair – is presented for the best green stand.
Marc Lodders, current owner of NL Plants and chairman of EPS, the foundation holding the license for GrootGroenPlus, emphasizes: “For over 35 years, collaboration has been at the heart of what we do. That’s why we’re happy to join GGP.news. We support every initiative that helps move the sector forward.”
With this partnership, NL Plants underlines its role as an engaged and forward-thinking player in the tree nursery chain. Through GGP.news, the company will share practical insights on sustainable cultivation, the importance of indigenous planting material, and the contribution of forest and hedge plants to nature restoration and landscape development.
We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with this family business with deep roots in the sector.
