Maarten van Overbeek Nursery joins GGP.news as new partner
Trees make the world more beautiful and healthier. With this belief at heart, Maarten van Overbeek founded his nursery in Oirschot in 2004 together with his wife Laura. Today, the company covers 65 hectares of loamy sandy soil and employs a dedicated team of twelve. Its wide range of shrubs and trees is cultivated with care, respect for soil and nature, and a focus on consistent quality.
From youthful passion to thriving nursery
Maarten’s passion started early: at the age of 14 he planted his first trees and learned the trade at a local nursery. While his father was a calf farmer, Maarten chose a different path. In 2004, he and Laura established Maarten van Overbeek Nursery, which has since grown into a reliable supplier renowned for quality, craftsmanship, and innovation.
Driven by innovation and sustainability
The nursery continually invests in sustainable and efficient techniques:
- Controlled drainage to manage water levels and safeguard soil health.
- Mechanical weed control instead of chemicals.
- GPS-based planting, mowing and hoeing, ensuring precision and uniformity.
- Robotics, including the AIGRO UP robot for grass strips and mechanized pruning up to 10 metres.
- Mechanical tying, allowing for compact, efficient, and sustainable transport.
Biodiversity is also encouraged with insect hotels and flower meadows, supporting natural pest control and a healthy ecosystem.
