In the category: Types or varieties of ornamental plants that are resistant to pests and improve the sustainability of parks and gardens, the Award went to Better Buxus, submitted by Romiti Vivai, for its resistance to diseases and pests, compact shape and beautifully coloured foliage. This was a nice boost for Didier Hermans of Herplant from Belgium, who brought this resistant boxwood to the market.

In the category: Species or varieties of trees and shrubs with clear ornamental characteristics and low water requirements, the Award was given to Philadelphus “Petite Perfume Pink”, submitted by Innocenti e Mangoni, for its abundant and fragrant flowering, which is particularly interesting for its colours, which begin in late spring and continue into summer. A compact, resilient shrub suitable for terraces, gardens and public green spaces. “Petite Perfume Pink” was introduced as a novelty on the international market this year. An honourable mention went to Moringa oleifera by Giorgio Tesi Group, a recently introduced species suitable for dry climates with low water requirements.

In the category: Technologies, products or systems that reduce energy and water consumption: the Award went to Basaltina Park 10 EdèGreen, a Betonella® from Tegolaia, made of 100 mm thick permeable concrete with natural aggregates and characterised by a concrete mixture with approximately 20% voids. The drainage capacity is 220 l/(min*m²). In this category, there was an Honourable Mention for the Artistic Fence by SIA MPL, an artistic, protective and innovative fencing solution.

In the category: Innovative and sustainable machines for the management of green areas, the Award was given to WD2.0 by Bruni Stefano, an electrically powered, remote-controlled lawnmower that is compact and low-profile and suitable for small, difficult and uneven surfaces.
